Chapter 1
"I miss you" Young Hak pressed send and then laid his head on the desk in front of him.
He sighed and then closed is eyes. If only...If only....
1 Year Before
Young Hak was a tall, slender, brown haired man. He was 18, and was a drop out student. His parents had died in a car accident when Young Hak was 17 and so Young Hak had decided to drop school. His life was in ruins.
He looked around himself. He was at his favorite park, in his favorite field. He heaved a sigh and laid down on the green grass below him. He stared up at the sky.
Memories flooded his mind.
FLASHBACK:
"Young Hak...come on! You can do it!" His father shouted at him.
Young Hak nodded. The sun was making him feel nauseous but, he ran toward the soccer ball and kicked it hard. His 8 year old body grew excited.
"Appa! I did it!" his face glowed.
His father smiled, "You did it! I'm so proud of you!"
Young Hak raced into his father's arms, trembling with joy.
"That's my boy...."
THUD! Young Hak's head began pounding and aching with pain. His eyes flew open and he jumped up.
A small girl was standing beside him. She slowly picked up the ball lying beside him.
Young Hak's face filled with anger, "What the-"
The girl looked frightened. To Young Hak's suprise a woman who looked to be around his age ran over.
"I'm so sorry!" She said apolagetically.
His anger disappeared, "It's fine."
He scratched his head and began to walk away.
"WAIT!" The woman yelled.
Young Hak turned around, "What?"
"Do....you want to play with us?"
Young Hak's anger returned.
"No thanks!" He snarled, "I have better things to do than play with babies."
The woman raised her eyebrow, "Fine then." She turned her back to him and began kicking the ball around.
Young Hak cursed and then strode away. He didn't need them.
He touched his head and stopped walking.
FLASHBACK:
"I'm quitting soccer mom," 10 year old Young Hak stated. He and his mother were sitting on a bench at the park.
His mother frowned, "Oh..."
"It's not my thing..."
"I feel bad for them."
Young Hak was confused, "Who?"
"All those people who haven't seen you play."
"They'll be fine."
"I won't," she frowned.
"But...I'm not good at it."
His mother stared him in the eyes, "Yes you are...want to make a promise?" She held out her pinky and Young Hak giggled, "You play soccer and I'll cheer for you in the stands."
Young Hak smiled, "Always?"
She nodded, "Every time. No matter what happens I won't let soccer part us."
Young Hak's eyes glistened, "It's a promise."
The put their pinky's together, the sun setting behind them.
Young Hak's eyes filled with tears, "You broke your promise mom...I'll never play soccer again if you're not cheering me on."
He wiped the tears off his face and continued walking.
If I play soccer will you cheer me on mom?
